“A beach to yourself” is how one would describe Bakkhali. Close to Sunderbans, it is a halcyon getaway in itself. Away from the hustle bustle of the main city and located around 135 kms from Kolkata, Bakkhali comes across as a treat to its visitors. It is lined with casuarinas and one can take advantage of a mystic sunset here. Being one of the most secluded white sand beaches in India, Bakkhali boasts of a 7km long beach ending till Frasergunj.

The 7 KM long beach is stretching from Bakkhali to Frasergunj. The drive from Diamond Harbour is enjoyable. All the creeks have bridges over them, excepting the Doania Hatania creek at Namkhana. Most of the islands are a part of the Sunderbans except a few at the fringes. The main attraction here is the Henry Island which has a beach adjacent to the Sunderbans. There is a watchtower from where you can get the complete view of the island. There are large shallow lakes, scattered throughout the island and nearly 30 of them are dedicated to pisiculture.
